Weston Aerobic Gymnastics attended the National Aerobic Code & British Aerobic Championships where they dominated the floor in both the national and international categories.
The weekend opened with British Gymnastics showcasing Weston’s own Lola Lawrence and her teammates in their aerobic gymnastics promotion video, Lola and her coach Kat Saunders were featured in several of British Gymnastics videos across the weekend.
In the National Aerobic Code Championships, Weston took home several medals and four national titles.
Results – National Development Individual (male): Devon Howell (gold); Jack Harvey (bronze). Group 1 pair: Mya Mcconnell and Maddy Sherwood-Dawson (gold) with a score that would have won the age group above.
Group 1 group: Freya Grafton, Lily Duffy, Olivia Damerell, Mya Mcconnell and Maddy Sherwood Dawson (gold), with a pleasing routine and their best score yet of 16.250, well ahead of the silver medalists.
Group 2 individual male: Matt Maynard (silver). Senior Individual Female: Izzy Worrall (gold); Courtney Hewett (bronze) finished her gymnastics career in style with her highest score to date.
Saturday afternoon saw the start of the Aerobic British Championships for Lola Lawrence and Nancy Law in the Group 1 individual women qualifications, where they showed the crowd why they were chosen to represent the country at World Championships last month as both qualified for the finals in first and second positions respectively.
Next up were Isidora Vucicevic and Xena Hewett in the Group 2 individual women qualifications, both performed well to qualify them into finals in sixth and eighth position in a category of 21.
